Two witnesses

 

[3] And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

[6] These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

[7] And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

[11] And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.

[13] And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

Since Ciconia is proven to be following the Biblical narrative the 'Two witnesses' are Valentina and Maricarmen, for two main reasons:

1. They are the only explicit group of two, being the only rotte (team of two) instead of a kette (trio)
2. They are called the two observers of the healthy military balance, observers of the battle standard festival as referees and both observers and witnesses to Miyao's chivalric order.
   

And they are cleary a reference to Bernkastel and Lambdadelta who were witnesses to the game between Battler and Beatrice, signified by their hair colors and their role in the story is to be observers

        'Witnessing a major moment in history'

[3] And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

Valentina and Maricarmen give prophecy to members of the public bath by giving them information about what will happen in the future that wasn't made public knowledge yet. 

For Example when Maricarmen comes to tell them about the problems with the 8ms, resurgence of Erbil L5 and the date of the second truce.

--Trumpet Judgements--

There are 21 disasters prophesized in the book of revelations these are the:

• Seven Seals
• Seven Trumpets
• Seven Bowls

The ones described in this passage are Turning the water to blood and Smiting the earth with plagues which are both Trumpet Judgements

The two witnesses have the power to invoke the trumpet judgements, the ones we can identify in phase 1 are, 

The 1st trumpet : Which refers to the destruction of 1/3 of the worlds crops -> Erbil L5

The 2nd and 3rd trumpet: Phase 2 preview, a totem falling from the sky will cause an 8ms error making the water blood red

The 4th trumpet: Sky darkened due to pollution

The 6th trumpet: Cavalry killing one third of humanity -> Drone strikes killing 3 billion people.

are all caused by the trumpets, the thing is that Valentina's and Maricarmen gauntlets are Golden trumpets

Therefore LATO is most likely the culprit behind all of the trumpet judgements, there is proof Erbil L5 was released by LATO.

--The Beast--

The two witnesses will be killed by the Beast and then resurrected again, The Beast here is Seshat (also due to her animal ears), who kills them in the scene at the ABN airport, after which they remember nothing

How the scene plays out in the bible:

1. The two Witnesses are killed by the Beast
2. They are resurrected
3. There is an Earthquake

And in Ciconia:

The two Witnesses are killed by the Beast -> Seshat enters the conference room and takes out her gauntlet to fight with Valentina and Maricarmen, the scene cuts before we see what happens

They are resurrected -> Valentina and Maricarmen wake up in a hospital room with no memory of what happened.

There is an Earthquake

"It felt like the pulsating of a Monster, in an abyss that surpassed human knowledge"

The fight scene between them wasn't shown but Ryukishi ,strangely, revealed one detail about phase 2, that being that Valentina and Maricarmen will share a fight scene but they won't be fighting each other.

We see the beginning of that scene in the epilogue where we see a few disjointed scenes of the future, in it Seshat is in Vier's lab and she needs someone's help to call 'those two', most likely Valentina and Maricarmen.

In the ancient texts there is mention of the Egyptian Goddess Seshat going to call the two other deities who are Nekhbet and Wadjet to legitimize a new ruler of Egypt. Nekhbet and Wadjet are called the two Ladies, and they are patrons of the lower and upper Egypt charged with keeping peace in the land.
